Each leg of the 109th Tour de France will be broadcast live by NBC, USA and Peacock†
All NBC and US coverage is also streamed on NBCSports.com/live and the NBC Sports app. Daily coverage starts with pre-race shows.
Slovenian Tadej Pogacar bids to enter Chris Froome as three-peat Tour de France champions over the past 27 years (excluding the stripped Lance Armstrong†
In 2020, at the age of 21, Pogacar became the second youngest winner in racing history, after Henri Cornet in 1904, and the first man in more than 60 years to wear the yellow jersey for the first time on the last day of a Tour.
In 2021, Pogacar was more dominant, taking the lead in the eighth stage and holding it until the end of the Tour. He won by 5 minutes 20 seconds, the biggest gap since 2014.
Once again, Team Jumbo-Visma should provide the greatest threat. That could be in the form of fellow Slovenian Primoz Rogliciwho finished second in the Tour of 2020, or Dane Jonas Vingegaardwho finished second in the 2021 Tour.
Two faces of recent Tours will be absent. Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl left sprinter Mark Cavendish out of the team so he will miss a chance to break his tie with Eddy Merckx for most career stage wins (34).
The team also left out the panache-filled Frenchman Julian Alaphilippewho is still recovering from serious injuries sustained in a crash in April.
Past Tour champions Geraint Thomas and Froome are also in the field.
